Pljeskavica (Serbian Burger)

Ingredients:

  • 500g minced beef (or mix with lamb)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp sparkling water (for juiciness)
  • Optional: chili flakes

Instructions:

Serve in a bun with kajmak, urnebes, chopped onions, and pickled veggies.

In a large bowl, mix the minced meat with onion, garlic, paprika, baking soda, salt, pepper, and sparkling water.

Knead the mixture well and let it rest in the fridge for 30–60 minutes.

Shape into flat, wide patties.

Grill on high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until cooked through.
